Exemplary NHE execution modalities with rigid resistance at the heels, but inappropriate (< 15 cm) (a) and appropriate kneeling height (≥ 15 cm) (b). A counter bearing of at least 140 kg is required to provide sufficient abutment for a 70 kg weighing athlete to perform an NHE until full knee extension (a). Assistance can be provided by a partner being located in front of the athlete and adjusting the pressure of his hands to the athlete’s shoulders according to the respective movement velocity (b).
